Musical Mentors, Inc.
About Us

From our President & C.E.O.:

"There are moments in every child's life that require the wisdom, understanding and guidance of an adult
figure: Moments of growth, times of transition, periods of uncertainty. We provide not only a means of
artistic expression, but also technical education while stressing the basic life skills of dedication,
discipline, and teamwork through music."

"I went through some rough times during my youth. Music was the one thing that kept me focused as I
grew. While I don't consider my life and accomplishments any different than that of most adults, I can say
that I am living proof that with hard work and dedication, a child can be anything they dream to be. Music
played a large role in my success."

I decided to use the equipment and knowledge I have to provide an opportunity to youth that they may
experience the same blessings and success music has given me. -- Randall DeWitt

Randall DeWitt has been a musician for over 30 years. He is an avid drummer, saxophonist, and keyboard
player. He first started giving drum lessons to youth during his freshman year in high school and continued
giving saxophone and drum lessons throughout his college years. He has played in dozens of bands that
included Christian rock, jazz, modern rock, country, and heavy metal in both original and cover formats.

Randall made his first studio recording at age 14. He bought his first mixing board at 15. During his teen
years Mr. DeWitt routinely helped bands in his hometown with live audio mixing. He also rented state of the
art recording equipment and recorded several of the bands he played with.

Over the years, Randall amassed recording and live audio equipment, played in bands, and worked as a
sound man as a hobby. He currently owns an audio engineering business known as "The Indy Sound Man".
The same equipment Mr. DeWitt uses in his business for professional bands is used by the students at
Musical Mentors.

Mr. DeWitt has a Bachelor of Science degree in aviation, and is employed full time as a commercial pilot &
Captain for an airline. He spent over a decade working in the Emergency Services field as a Paramedic and
Firefighter and served as a captain and training officer in both fields. Mr. DeWitt taught for the North Carolina
community college system for over 7 years and has been certified to teach over a dozen health and science
programs. Randall worked as a substitute teacher for the Decatur Township school system in Marion County
for 3 years as his schedule permitted. He is also a Certified Flight Instructor and Advanced Ground Instructor
through the Federal Aviation Administration.
