Services
Musical Mentors provides mentoring services incorporated into a musical format that includes
private music lessons, and group or individual lessons in audio engineering and stage production.
The lessons and courses enable the student to learn to play a musical instrument and give them the
opportunity to perform with other musicians in a supervised stage type setting.

Our facility includes a comfortable classroom setting as well as an 875 square foot lab facility that
includes state of the art computer and digital recording equipment, digital lighting and effects, and
top of the line instruments and amplification equipment. Students receive classroom instruction and
hands on experience in the lab, learning to set up and operate this high tech equipment.

Music Lessons:

Students can have private instruction in the instrument of their choice. Our Musical Mentors will go
to the student's home for half-hour or one hour lessons. As the student progresses they will have the
opportunity to play with other musicians at our facility in more of a band format. While providing an
important expressive outlet, our lessons not only teach proper technique, but also the important life
skills of dedication, discipline, and teamwork.

ALL MUSIC STUDENTS WILL LEARN TO READ MUSIC!

Audio Engineering/Stage Production:

We offer formal classes in audio engineering and stage production in our lab. Each class consists
of a classroom portion and a lab portion for hands on experience. Audio engineering is not rocket
science. While it may take years to develop the important techniques and skills needed to become
an audio engineer, the student will gain valuable skills and experience previously unavailable to
children and teens. The lecture/lab format also gives the student experience that mimics that of
higher education.

Students will learn the components of a stage production system and the proper operation of each.
The components include:

Public Address System
Mixing Board
Amplifiers
Main and monitor speakers
In-Ear monitor systems
Effects (Compressor, Limiter, Gate, EQ)
Microphones and cables

DMX Digital Lighting and Stage Effects:
L.E.D. & PAR cans
Fog effects
Smart lights
DMX programming and connection
Building & implementing a lightshow

As you can see, the student gets incredible experience with modern equipment, while learning to
work as a member of a stage production team and/or band.
